Looking for the Next Kodak Stock? You Need a Stock Screener App
Good morning guys, how is the trading going? Today I want to talk about a stock scanner App that I recently discovered. If you going to App Store and search for “stock scanner”, the App will show up. There are several reasons I like it:
1. It has free data with no ads;
2. It is a good source to learn;
3. It has build-in indicators that you can check on the go
So now I’m going to show you how I use it.
First if you go to “screener” tab at the bottom of the screen, you can see there is a screener builder where you can choose different criteria you are look for.
For example, last month coronavirus was hitting the states and a lot of people sold stock because of panic. So I can go to the screener and select RSI<40, which will filter out the stock that are oversold. Also I can as more filters as I want: like EPS<20% and technology sector to look into the areas that I’m interested in.
If I want to glam through all the industry, and see what’s going on today, I will go to “Heat Map” section and then I can see the real-time situation in a variety industries.
After selecting the stocks, I’m going to look into each individual stock in more details. To check the profile of the stock to gain a fundamental information, and also you can check out the financial chart in the next tab. This is a quick way to check different stocks and make comparison of different stock in the same industry to pick out the one you like. More over, you can go to the “News” tab to keep updated about the what’s happening now.
If you want to do day trading or swing trading but haven't gotany trading ideas yet, you can also go to “notification” to get daily buy and sell signals for some inspirations.
To sum up, I think the screener app is a great tool to use no matter you are a day trader or a beginner trader like me. I also like that there is a community on WhatsApp that you can join the App, where I exchanged trading ideas with the new friends across the world.
Warren Buffet has a saying that “never invest in a business you cannot understand.” That’s why I like to learn more about the stocks I’m going to invest and already invested and decide whether that is a good investment or not. More data and analysis will surely help me no matter my analytical skills or the understanding of a company or a stock.
